GROW IN PRAYERS

MAIN TEXT – James 5:17-18 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

James 5: 16b—The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

All these years, I have wondered why Jesus always prayed when He lived here on earth as a man. We must have heard that Jesus continually prayed. There was a day that His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they did not understand that the effectual fervent prayer is more than asking and receiving, prayer is worship to God.

He that prays is on the altar of sacrifice unto God, he becomes the Lord’s sacrifice that burns on the altar of fellowship and the smoke ascends to God in heaven. No demon touches the Lord’s meat that is laid on the altar. Pray until you lose your opposing will and submit to God. Christians should not complain, but pray.

When you complain, you kneel before the devil, but when you pray, you kneel before God. Don’t take up the job of the devil’s newscaster. If you are really disturbed about the matter; don’t tell me how worse it has gone, rather show me your knees. Go back on your knees and talk to God.

PRAYER WORKS IF YOU PERSIST WITH FAITH

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, teach me how to pray and receive answers. Amen.
