POSSESS YOUR TERRITORY
MAIN TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10:4 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds…”
Obadiah 1:17—But on Mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness, and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
To claim your possession is the act of taking what is rightfully yours and having control of it. A property may be my lawful possession, and yet, for various reasons, I may not be able to get at it: it may be in the hands of one who defrauds me of it, or I may be far away and unable to reach it. God is charging us that we must possess them.
To possess needs an authority and forceful takeover. The provisions and blessings given to us are backed up by the authority of God, who is our Abba Father. The contenders and enemies who come to take the joy that God has given us must be dealt with by the authority and forceful power that they have no right over the divine blessings. “Pray without ceasing” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
Our good knowledge of the Bible remains the weapon against the enemies—flying around our blessings. Fervent prayer must be engaged immediately to secure God’s gifts. Queen Esther and Mordecai prayed with scriptural understanding, and God intervened. Don’t accept that defeat and mediocrity this year. Say No, to that discomforting illness.
