FROM INSULTS TO RESULTS

MAIN TEXT; 1 THESSALONIANS 2:2 ‘We have previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you the gospel in spite of strong opposition.’

‘These have come so that your faith – of greater worth than gold which perishes even though refined by fire – may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus is revealed.’ 1 Peter 1:7

The Believers’ journey on earth is characterized by problems, pains and oppositions. You cannot be a successful Christian without receiving a fair share of these. Insults, humiliations and reproach are part of what you must receive on your way to heaven. If you are genuinely following Christ.

The good news is: your experience shall not end in insults only but in victory, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Your life is not destined to end in shame and disgrace, but, the devil uses them as tools to bring your faith down, but, God allows them to create an awareness in you of your need to depend on him. Let’s look at Paul. As highly placed as he was in the society, he was badly insulted, perhaps, by those below his pay grade but He persevered.

He did not throw away his bible, confidence and courage. In spite of strong opposition, he kept on preaching the gospel. Paul refused to take offence with those who insulted him, and was never deterred by the insults. He did not give up his assignment of spreading the gospel, being a Christian nor did he leave church. That you are insulted as a Christian shows you are truly walking in line with God’s will (2 Tim 3:12).

Remember your level of preparation dictates your level of blessing that awaits you when you pass the test. Sometimes you need insults to deflate your ego. The natural man is not useful to God. Before God uses any man, he sifts him of the chaff so that the substance will shine forth. Ignore the insults, focus on your assignment and make sure you are positively impacting other people.

JESUS CHRIST TOOK OUR SHAME AND GAVE US GLORY

Prayer: Dear Master Jesus, turn every insult and reproach in my life to glory and honor. Amen
