THE POWER OF THE CROSS 2
MAIN TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Hebrews 12:2 – fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The cross is the central feature of the gospel message. Without it, the Christian faith falls apart and would be powerless to save from sin. The cross represents everything that Jesus did for us and there is great value in a deeper understanding of the power of the cross.
There’s no victory without the cross, there’s no way to God without the cross, and Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for humanity as He boldly confessed, “it’s finished”. There is no other ‘lord’ that did what our Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross.
One of the condemned thieves that were crucified with him, received immediate mercy and position in God’s kingdom – there is no condemnation for those who come to the cross for repentance.
AT THE CROSS, SICKNESS AND SHAME WERE CRUSHED
PRAYER: Everything that Jesus Christ destroyed on the cross will never be in my life anymore. I receive the Blessings of the cross today in Jesus name Amen.
