Seek Peace and Pursue it
Main Text: Hebrews 12:14 “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord”.
1 Peter 3:10-11 – “Let him turn away from evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it”.
As we grow closer to God, our desire for peace becomes more effective and lasting. Each one of us should find path to peace and pursue it according to our main text. From where we read 1 Peter3:10-11 we found out that for one to seek peace and pursue it, we must first find peace with ourselves. We are told to turn away from wickedness. Get rid of and shun wicked ways, wicked actions and evil thoughts. The reason is because there is no peace in wickedness. Then determine to live right. When seeking for peace through whatever ordeal we or those close to us may have to face, we are to seek it with a mind to find it.
Beloved, for your destiny to be fulfilled, you need peace not through worldly possession, rather by living according to God’s word and instruction. For spiritual sound mind and spiritual maturity (see our main text), Apostle Peter still encouraged us in 1 Peter 3:11 not only to be satisfied with just wanting peace but to look for it. Go after it, no matter what is takes. When you find it, take hold of it and don’t let it go.
