AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
MAIN TEXT: JONAH 2:10
“But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord”.

2 Corinthians 9:15. “Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gifts”.

God desires thankful people, not a murmuring, grumbling, fault-finding, complaining people. We have to realize that every good thing that comes to us in this life comes by the grace of God. As children of God, we must have a humble attitude, and have a continuous lifestyle of thanksgiving. “Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me”. (John 11:41).

When you pray, I encourage you to end your prayer as Jesus did here by saying, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me”. When we know that God has heard us, we know that He has granted us our requests (1 John 5:14:15). Apostle Paul speaking to us about this life says, we should give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:20). He also told us in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to always thank God in everything, no matter what the circumstances may be.

Be thankful and give thanks, for this is the will of God for you, who are in Christ Jesus. This lifestyle of thanksgiving shows grateful heart. Like Jesus, Apostle Paul thanked God that people received him as a minister; he thanked God for his partners, he thanked God for churches he founded, he thanked God for the people in churches. He even thanked God that he spoke in tongues. He knows that it is by God’s grace that we receive every good thing.
YOU RECEIVE FROM GOD WHEN YOU ARE GRATEFUL
