YOUR ENEMIES WILL BECOME YOUR FOOTSTOOL
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 110:1–2 The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
Isaiah 60:14—The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you, And all those who despised you will bow themselves at the soles of your feet, And they will call you the city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
In biblical times, defeated enemies were brought back in chains and the victorious king would sit on his throne and put his feet up on the backs of his defeated enemies as a sign of victory. Likewise, Jesus’ conquered enemies are being dragged to Him one by one, and put under His feet.
The condition to enjoy this victory is by being on the side of God. It is the responsibility of God to make our enemies bow and become our footstools. We should not revenge by ourselves but take the matter to the eternal supreme court of Heaven. By strength shall nobody prevail, but God knows how to finish the battle.
Nebuchadnezzar was humiliated to a beast, and he was brought down beyond the status he gave to the Jews who suffered in his hands. All his military might, wickedness, charms, and wealth didn’t stop the judgment of God. Relax, God is not sleeping over that your case. Don’t permit worry steal your victory, that will soon happen.
THE HAND OF GOD IS ON THE NECKS OF YOUR ENEMIES
PRAYER: God, Arise and bring down all the enemies who walk in wickedness against me. Let their gods and altars be destroyed by your hands. Disappoint all of them in Jesus’ name, Amen.
