CAN A MAN OWE GOD?
MAIN TEXT: MALACHI 3:8 Will man rob God? Yet, you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions.
1 John 2:3,5—This is how we know that we know Him: if we keep His commands… But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the love of God is made complete.”
Tithing is a divine, systematic release of a tenth of your increase to God. God has clarified it that tithing is a divine mandate given to the lovers of God’s kingdom. It is a special portion of your increase which God has reserved for Himself. He tells you in Leviticus 27:30 “And all the tithes of the land, whether of the seed of the Lord, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is HOLY UNTO THE LORD.
Apart from tithing, there are other commitments in the house of God which you should be involved in as a worshiper of God or member of the church. Have you made vows and you did not pay? In what ways are you owing God? Satan can use those things to accuse us.
Any covenant you might have broken, can be the channel through which demons are using against you. The devourer can come in various forms: frequent car breakdowns, loses, sickness, disappointments and so on. You can put an end to devourer by amending your ways.
DO NOT OWE GOD
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, search me and remind me of my shortcomings. Have mercy on me. Grant me the grace to fulfill my covenant promises in Jesus’ name, Amen.
