LOVE GOD DEARLY
Main Text: Deuteronomy 6:5 – Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your strength.
Deuteronomy 7:9 – Know therefore that the Lord your God is God. He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. (NIV).
Do you know that your love for God is measured by how much you obey his commandments? He first loved us in our imperfect state. How much you love God determines the level of your commitment to him. But we must first accept and believe his love.
There is no greater way, measure or pattern to show that we love God except through obedience to his commandments. Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. Bear in mind that the extent we accept God’s love for us is the much we can love and honour him. Which also determines our levels of knowledge and experience of Him? Loving God dearly involves your mind which is the seat of your emotions, thoughts and reasoning. These should be centered on God. Your soul has your essence and the substance of who you are. Your love for God should permeate your soul.
These should all be deployed to the service of God. He gave us his best in Christ Jesus and nothing else can suffice, only our best, even though our best may not be good enough. Still that is the quality we must give to prove our love to God. You can serve without love but you can never love without serving.
WHEN WE LOVE GOD DEARLY, WE SERVE HIM EFFICIENTLY.
Prayer Point: Dear God, may my service unto you be propelled by true love for you. In Jesus name Amen.BY BISHOP NGOZI DURUEKE (HE REIGNS CHAPEL INTERNATIONAL) To send your testimony, write us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
