PURIFIED BY REFINING
Main Text- Psalm 12:6- The words of the Lord are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times
Proverbs 25:4- Remove the dross from the silver and a vessel for a silversmith will come forth.
Matthew Henry’s commentary on Malachi teaches us that Christ by His word shall purify and refine His church and by His spirit working with His word shall regenerate and cleanse our souls. For to this end He gave Himself for the Church, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of the water by the word -Ephesians 5:26. In Titus2:14 He also said He will purify to Himself a peculiar people. Christ Jesus through His word is the great refiner.
God lets us go through the fire in order to prepare us for His plans and purposes for our lives. Many times God permits trials in order to produce a greater maturity and fruitfulness in us. We can’t become Christ-like without it. God’s first priority is to make us fruitful
Malachi 3:3 says, He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.
Purification comes when we allow God’s word to penetrate us and transform us. The word of God does a lot of hammering, chiselling and purifying by fire in order to mature us and make us fruitful. The challenge is on our side, are we ready to allow the fire to do its work in our lives.
THE VALUE OF THE GOLD IS ACHIEVED BY REFINING FIRE
Prayer: Lord Jesus, place your refining fire on me that my glory shall be great in Jesus name.
