ENGAGING THE POWER OF GOD 1
MAIN TEXT: 1 KINGS 18:36 – … Elijah the prophet said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel…”
Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world, His invisible attribute are clearly seen … even His eternal power … so that they are without excuse …
Power refers to variety of ideas relating to ability, capacity, authority, might or strength. The biblical description of power(dunamis) is such that power is an inherent characteristic of God – Romans 1:20, which is manifested in His creation of the world. His explicable power is the only explanation for the virgin birth of Jesus Christ as we see in Luke 1:35. The power of God is therefore the power above all powers. It is the Ultimate power.
One can engage in God’s power by allowing Him to first empower him through constantly studying the word of God which is viewed by Apostle Paul as the dynamite of God, Romans 1:16 and therefore is the power of God. Remember that by the spoken word of God, the world was formed. There is power in the word of God. Praying constantly is another channel of engaging in the power of God.
Prayer gets you on the God – frequency with the Almighty God, grants you audience with the Lord and gives you opportunity to make your request known unto Him. Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Right now, connect to God in prayers and receive your testimony.
