BECOME A BETTER YOU

MAIN TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 6:17
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

JEREMIAH 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Beloved of God, for you to be really redeemed of the Lord, you must adopt a new way of living.
One thing that can come upon a new creature in Christ is the departure from curses to blessings.

Apostle Paul encourages us to be transformed rather than being conformed to this world of sin (Romans 12:1-2). The truth of the matter is that only those who are in Christ can experience the new things God promises us in His word.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

When a person accepts Jesus as His or Her Lord and Saviour, such a person automatically become dead to the old life, every link with the old life is cut off. Every new creature in Christ submits to His Lordship.
From the point of rebirth, we begin to hunger for righteousness by pursuing purity, honesty, justice, love, humility and service to humanity. It starts from a new mind. You immediately begin to think differently from the old ways to such an extent that your new behavior and a better you may seem strange, even to you. This new life in Christ comes with the assurance of abundant life here on earth and even in heaven.

THE LIFE THAT IS TRANSFORMED BY CHRIST STANDS OUT

PRAYER: Father, as a new creature in Christ, please help me to always live according to your word in Jesus Name. Amen.

BLESSED ASSURANCE

Text:1 John 5:12
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Romans 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As Christians we should be confident to say that we are sure of the promises of God and not living by chance or assumptions of our salvation. God gave us a famous hymn “Blessed Assurance” about our salvation. “

Assurance is simply confidence in a guaranteed fact”. God wants us to be sure that is why he has given us scriptures telling us with absolute sureness that we have eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Sometimes Christians doubt their salvation, whether they will make Heaven or not, below are a few reasons for this doubt: A person may not be truly born again-So many people claim to be Christians. They go to church, read the Bible, pray and say they believe in God but they have never truly repented of their sins and accepted Jesus as their Lord and saviour, they need to acknowledge their need for Christ and receive him truly into their hearts by faith.

Secondly; Satan tries to cast doubt in us, Satan hates to see people trust Christ, so he confuses God’s children using worldly things and instances, we shouldn’t allow Satan cast doubt in our hearts.

Thirdly is the confusion about works and grace. We are not saved by what we do. The Apostle Paul’s testimony dispels that untruth. (Romans 7:15-17). The old carnal nature with which we were born will give us trouble till we die, through the new nature we learn to reject the old nature. If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16-17).

Lastly is unfamiliarity with scriptures, People lack knowledge of the scriptures and thereby fail to take God at His word.

ANY ONE IN CHRIST JESUS IS NO LONGER CONDEMNED AND HE SHOULD EXERCISE HIS ETERNAL INHERITANCE

Prayer: Jesus Christ I surrender to you, make me a new creation and let every guilt in me be cancelled. I receive power to live freely in Christ.
