DON’T SIT IDLE

DON’T SIT IDLE

Main Text: James 2:14 “What doth it profit my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?

James 1:23 – For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.

The title above refers to a Christian believer who does not work in the house of God. Such a believer can be called a bench warmer or a baby Christians. James 1:22-24 says, if you hear the word and don’t put it into practice, you deceive yourself, you are like a person who sees himself in a mirror and when he leaves the mirror, forgets what his face looks like.

As a believer, you are God’s ambassador here on earth. An ambassador has special duty and in your case to win souls for Christ. Remember the biblical injunction that he that wins a soul is wise. Therefore you must not sit on the fence but rise to the challenge for which you are called. Brethren, if you are saved, endeavor to save your brethren Luke 22:31-32.

In Luke 10:2, Jesus said that the harvests are plenty but the workers are few and urged the brethren to pray that God would release more labourers into the harvest.

Beloved, do you realize that God has released you into the harvest as an evangelist, usher, choir/music minister, alter decorator among others. This is made clearer to you in 2 Tim. 2:15 where you are encouraged to work to show yourself approved before God as a workman who is not ashamed to preach God’s message of truth.

THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOURSELF AS A VESSEL OF HONOUR IN GOD’S HOUSE

Prayer Point – In Jesus name, Father give me more power for service now
