EVALUATE YOUR FAITH

EVALUATE YOUR FAITH

Main Text: James 1:3 – Knowing this, that the trial of your faith worketh patience. (KJV)

1 Peter 1:7  – That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (KJV)

Faith according to the scriptures is a substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen – Hebrew 11:1. Faith talks about the manifestation though not yet seen with the natural eyes of man. From our main text, the scripture is reminding us that even when we have that faith, our faith can be tried (Go through a period of test).

Be encouraged and not discouraged when your faith is being tested by fire because it will produce patience (one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit). God does not allow us go through the tunnel of trials without a higher/better reward at the end of the tunnel.

In the story of Abraham, Sarah and the conception of Isaac, it was a long trial time even when the promise of a son was made (Genesis 18:1-15). Abraham and Sarah were very old yet both believed the promise that was made several years ago and at the fullness of time, Sarah was delivered of a son (Isaac). God had to take Abraham through a journey in order to teach him His ways and make Abraham a better person. The process of trial that produces patience is not easy in reality but if you can hold on and develop patience through it, you will emerge victoriously.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE: JESUS PROMISED THAT HE IS WITH US AT ALL TIMES

Prayer Point: Oh Lord, give me the grace to persevere in faith when my faith is tried
