JESUS; THE TRUE FRIEND
MAIN TEXT: JOHN 15:13
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. (KJV)
1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you
Life is precious and the blood of any living soul is equally highly valued in the sight of God. The love of God for mankind, is beyond human comprehension. Who can die for another? No man. In the face of death, many have denounced their faith, but not so with our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, who faced death on the cross with great courage all geared towards salvaging the lost souls of men. (Matthew 27:46-50).
Indeed, Jesus is the true friend. We have all manners of friends today, both fake and true friends. How do you identify true friends? A saying “A friend indeed is a friend in need”, sums it all.
Jesus died for our sins. He paid the debt he did not owe, was crucified, was humiliated on the cross, took the shame and reproach for you, and I. Who else can qualify for a true friend? If not Jesus. He deserves our absolute obedience, love and worship.
TRUE FRIENDSHIP SHOULD BE VALUED
