YOU’RE GOD’S CHOICE
MAIN TEXT: ACTS 9:15-But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
1 PETER 2:9- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
God is a God of plans and purposes throughout all ages, times and generations He has always chosen men and women alike with whom He used to achieve His plans and purposes. Men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David Ezekiel, Samson, Deborah to mention but a few, were all chosen by God at different times to fulfill a certain task to His glory.
When God wants to visit a people or a generation, He sends a man to them. God through the death of Jesus on the cross has called all men to come to Him. When you accept Christ Jesus as Lord and saviour, you answer God’s call and become His choice. God transforms you to His chosen vessel of honour and uses you to show forth His love to the dying world. What then do we do to be chosen by God? We do absolutely nothing for God to choose us because no human adequacy can ever meet God’s requirements.
It is simply His mercy and grace that find us worthy before Him. When God chooses a man, the background, and negative views of people about him do not matter, as God unleashes His grace that qualifies and makes him worthy. God chooses the weak and the feeble, He chooses the very unqualified and makes them strong and qualified.
Humanly speaking the oil of kingship should not have rested on David since he was the least son among his father’s sons but the unlimited favour of God found him out. 1 Samuel 16:11-12. Because you are created in God’s image and likeness, because you are a child of God, you are His choice. Are you dark, fair, short and tall see yourself as a unique creature and don’t compare yourself with others.
YOU ARE GOD’S CHOSEN VESSEL OF HONOUR
