YOU CANNOT PLEASE EVERYONE
Main text: Colossians 3:17. “ And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him”.
“And we prayer this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way. Bearing fruit in every good work, growing in knowledge of God”. Colossians 1:10
If you are working to please everyone then, get ready to be having shipwreck in your faith all the time. It is impossible to please everyone, so stop trying to. Jesus your leader did not try; he just did the father’s will. So you should too.
Pleasing man should not be your focus, pleasing and honouring God should. We should set our minds on pleasing God in all that we do, not men. If in the process, man is somebody is pleased, wonderful, and if no one but God is pleased, move on, it is better to please God than man.
By all indications, it is best to obey God and damn men.
Don’t allow yourself to be controlled or led by other people’s ideas or opinions because, when you do, you set yourself up for frustration and captivity.
When we try to please everyone all the time, we become moribund-not useful to God, not useful to ourselves, because then, we no longer have any opinions of our own.
Our ultimate desire must be to please GOD ALMIGHTY in all that we do. Don’t forget that we are created for his pleasure. Pleasing God is our primary purpose. To work out the father’s glory in our lives. No matter how hard or well you try, you cannot please everyone at all times. There must be offences and the offended. So quit trying to and begin to work more on discovering who you are meant to be and do to increase those who are heading to heaven.
