Topic: Share your struggles
Text: James 5:16 (KJV) “Confess your faults one to another, pray one for another that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much”.
Second text: Romans 12:10 (KJV) – Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
There is a common saying in the Christian fold that a closed mouth is a closed destiny which implies that if you don’t speak out and ask for help, it will not come.
The longer you bottle your challenges, it breathes room for depression and the latter is from the kingdom of darkness. In the case of Blind Bartimaeus, when he heard that Jesus Christ was passing, he cried out and asked for mercy and Jesus Christ healed him (Mark 10:46-50).
If so, an important step towards your deliverance is speaking out to someone in your life who understands and wants to see/ help you, set you free, will stand by you, identifies with your struggles and knows how to keep your confidence.
And it needs to be a Christian brother or sister whom you can draw spiritual strength from. There must be an agreement between you: that you will work together until lasting change has taken place in your life.
It’s the broken who became master at mending, that is, been there, seen it or has an understanding of what your challenges are. So find someone who has won the battle you are fighting; and sure they share your faith and values.
The Bible says in Mathew 18: 19, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my father which is in heaven”.
Choose wisely whom you share your struggles with.
