BE KIND TO THE UNDESERVING

JANUARY 28 MONDAY

Topic:Be kind to the undeserving

2 Samuel 9:7 (KJV) “And David said unto him, fear not for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy father sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually”.

Second text: Joshua 2:12 (KJV) – “Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token”.

In Bible times, when a new king ascends the throne, he usually killed or banished every member of the old king’s family.

So here is the story of Jonathan king Saul’s son and another with their lives. After Jonathan and Saul died in battle, Jonathan had one remaining son called Mephibosheth.

So David had him brought to the palace, saying, I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always, eat at my table”.

The Bible says “Go for Christ’s sake has forgiven you”. Ephesian 4:37.Your acceptance with God isn’t based on who you are but whose you are? Mephibosheth was lame in both feet and couldn’t walk properly. And spiritually speaking you couldn’t; yet Mephibosheth ate at the kings table; and he was crippled in both feet” (2nd Samuel 9:13).

God wraps us in His righteousness of Christ and put all our sins under the blood and we are always accepted in His sight Show kindness to somebody today.

Prayer Point: Oh! God, please help me to show kindness to others in Jesus Name.
