MY SOUL AND MY MONEY

FEBRUARY 28 THURSDAY

MY SOUL AND MY MONEY

Main text: Luke 16:13 (NIV) – “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Second text: 1Timothy 6:10 (KJV) – “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.”

According to Ecclesiastes 10:9 that money answereth all things but the truth is taken a step forward when we believe that our sufficiency is of God and He is the source of all blessings (money inclusive).

We do have a loving father who has given us a sure and living promise that He will supply “all our needs” according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. However, He has given us a blueprint that leads to unlocking this blessing…but seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and “ALL” other things shall be added unto you.

Many Christians seek “all other things” first as against Christ’s instruction. We have allowed our souls to be affected by what money can buy. Jesus knows our every need but he understands better that our money is ephemeral compared to our soul. It is our soul that connects with the Father in the spirit.

And it is this same soul that will be housed by our spirit when our days are completed on planet earth. Let’s bear it in mind that God is more particular about our soul than our money. After all, there is nothing we have received (earthly possession) that we have not been given from above.

In another vein, let us serve God with our money. Let us pay our tithe, offering and more for these are indeed ways to our blessings. Let us love in deed by being a blessing to others. Let’s also bear it in mind that the Lord delights in our prosperity, hence, He was poor that we might be rich. Thus, let the richness in Christ be evident in our everyday living.

The charge this morning is to be deliberate about building your soul than building your money. Note: You cannot serve God and Mammon neither nor can your money save your soul.

“YOUR SOUL IS AN ETERNAL ENTITY, MONEY IS AN EPHEMERAL EQUITY.”

Prayer Point: Father in the name of Jesus, grant me a heart to serve you with my all.
