OBSERVE HIS FOOTSTEPS
MAIN TEXT: I PETER 2:21 ‗For even here unto were ye called; because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps‘. ―
He that said he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk even as he walked‖
1 John 2:6
Being a born again is more than just saying the right words. It is more than doing good deeds, and coming to church, and talking about bible. The test of true Christianity comes on our everyday walk with Jesus .
To follow the footsteps of Jesus is not only to obey His teachings, but also to strive to be more like Him every day. Jesus Christ is the most famous man who ever lived, and has given the quality of His life which every Christian should emulate. In fact, He gave us the example of His life, primarily to inspire us to ―walk just as He walked‖ (1 John 2:6).
To observe the footsteps of Jesus is more of becoming like Him. Tracing the footprints of Jesus Christ and walking in His steps, one should also mark the following:- His service life(John 13:14-15), His incarnation (Phil. 2:5-8), His love (Ephesians 5:2), His cross (1 Peter 2:21), His patient/endurance(1 Peter 20:21), Mission and prayer(John 17:18) and lots more.
