WHERE ARE YOU?

May Day 29 Wednesday

WHERE ARE YOU?

MAIN TEXT ISAIAH 59:2

―But your iniquities have separated between you and you God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that He will not hear‖.

Genesis 3:9 – ―Then the Lord God called Adam and said to him, ―Where are you?

You may be surprised on why God was asking for Adam’s whereabout when He knew exactly where Adam was at that particular time. At that time, Adam and Eve were hiding because they were guilty of disobedience. God knew about it and decided to ask them ―where are you?‖ to make them to experience the reality that they were now alienated from Him.

If this question is directed to you right now, what will be your answer? Maybe you are hiding like Adam because you are guilty. You are afraid of God because you are indulging in a secret sin or maybe you are trying

to cover sin with fig leaves of religious activities. At this moment, maybe you do not want thoughts of God and the teachings of Christ to interfere with how you go about the moment of your daily life.

Note that God was not looking for Adam to kill him, but to be gracious to him. God was saying, you are lost Adam and I have come to find you. In the same way, Christ is asking you today, ―where are you my child‖ the solution is not hiding but just come as you are, and He will be gracious to you.

SIN IS A REPROACH

Prayer Point: Draw me back to yourself oh God, each time I go astray, in Jesus name.
