LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS

June Day 16 Sunday

LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS

Main text: Philippians 4:11

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.

It is commonly said that all fingers are not equal. The resources which are available to us vary in quantity from person to person. Many people are classified as wealthy/rich, average or poor. But in whatever class we find ourselves we must learn to be contended with our lot and live within our means. When a man is not satisfied with his lot, he tends to become influenced by negative force which may prompt him to get more by all means.

Now the problem with by all means attitude is that one quickly gets into trouble as reasoning jumps out and desperation takes over the senses. The driving forces of by all means often drives its victim into doing crazy things just to measure up, but which eventually backfires and leaves the person in a worst state. Our manual for living (Bible) advises us to be content with our lot and encourages us to be happy in every state, giving thanks to God.

Life is in stages and men are in sizes, that you don’t have it now doesn’t mean you can never have it! Comparing yourself with equals foolishness. Be contented, live within your means, make a plan with the little you have and see it work out just fine.

THE MOST UNFORTUNATE OF ALL MEN IS A MAN WHO DECEIVES HIMSELF.

Prayer: Lord satisfy me by your truth, in Jesus name.
