BORN TO GLORIFY GOD
Main Text: 1 Peter 4:11 – if any man speaks, let him speak as the oracle of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever, Amen.
Revelations 4:11 – Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.
To glorify God means to bring Him honour through what we say, how we act, and how we think. Let us by this study as God’s image determine to live to make God look more like the greatness and beauty and the infinite worth that He really is.
Some people may wonder why they were born if we are only to die at a certain age. Isn’t there more to life than to say, we eat, drink and make merry for tomorrow we die? God created man in His own image to bring glory to Him.
He is a sovereign God, meaning that He is completely independent. He created you to actualize your purpose on earth which in turn brings back glory to Him. The more we glorify God through our living, the more He glorifies us.
For this reason, even the least life is wasted when we do not live it to the glory of God. When we live in sin, we deviate from the purpose for which we were sent to the world. We deviate from our God given purpose to bring glory to Him. God expects from us that in our daily living, we live it out for Him.
Wherever you find yourself, you profess His word. Your life becomes a candle for those who still dwell in darkness. When you speak, your words are sugar-coated with the word of God. You do not act in the manner in which the people of this world act. You exhibit integrity in your daily activities as Joseph did in Potiphar’s house. That is the kind of life expected of us as Christians which brings glory to God.
Beloved, as you have you have been enlightened today by God’s word; determine to live that life that brings glory to the King of Kings. God is always faithful.
REMEMBER, GOD IS THE CENTRE OF YOUR LIVING.
