MY LIPS WILL NOT LIE

MY LIPS WILL NOT LIE

MAIN TEXT: PROVERBS 12:22 – The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.

Colossians 3:9 – Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices.

To be a person that can be reliable and trusted is a choice that one has to make. It is a personal decision that we must make as Christians if we want God to be glorified in our lives. The sin of lying is almost found everywhere in people.

It is very pathetic to know that most people are involved in this deceit. A liar cannot be trusted and he doesn’t even trust himself. It is like living with different personalities in one.
Lying is a sin that deceives even the liar. The more we lie, the more truth is far from us. Jesus Christ is the truth and whenever we lie, we push Jesus Christ away from us.

It is a command to us that we should not lie to people especially to those who profess Christ. We can’t claim to put off a garment of sin and the sin of lying is still found in us. Our new garment must be that of truth and no single lie. Must we lie to live? The answer is No but the devil has deceived many to believe so. The end is destruction.

God detests lying lips, trust is the major cord that holds relationships of all levels, whether in family, marriage, business and with God. God has nothing to do with lying lips because the cord of relationship is affected by lies. Have a pure mind and you will always tell the truth and stand for the truth but when you allow deceit and impurities in your mind, you become a perpetual liar.

MAKE A COVENANT WITH GOD THAT YOU WILL TELL THE TRUTH AND NOT LIES

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from lying lip and let my mind be pure to liv for you in Jesus name.
