WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS?

Main text- 1 Samuel 17:40 – And he took his staff in his hand, and choose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand; and he drew near to the Philistine

Ephesians 6:17 – And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God

Beloved, what is actually in your hands? God will use what you have in your hands to bring your deliverance most times. David was a warrior even as a shepherd, he went to see his brothers at the war camp but he also went with his weapons of war that he has tried and trusted over time because he knew he was going to and who he was in the Lord.

David was only known as a shepherd, it was only God and him that knew the ability he has as a warrior. Although he was not yet qualified to enroll in the army, he didn’t rely on the protection of others. Imagine what would have happened if David was not with his own weapon and didn’t know how to use it, no doubt that Israel would have been destroyed on that day. What you have might not be a giant spear, or arrow but a stone in the hand of a David kills every Goliath.

Today we do not carry stones and slings but God knows the importance of such weapons and he gave a stronger weapon called “the sword of the spirit” which is the word of God.

In this world of many battles with its daily threats, what will make you a victor and hero is the equipment of the word of God that you carry. Sometimes, it can be your skill, gift, attitude that will give you those miracles, favour and blessings. You are living at risk of failure and slavery if you remain handicapped.
