ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST 2
MAIN TEXT – Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Psalm119:114 – You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.
When we are most ready to perish, God is most ready to help us, for his grace is always sufficient in our weakness. Lewis Smedes, a Christian ethicist asked the question “is there hope when the situation is hopeless” and he answered it “Yes there is Christian hope, for in the bible, hope is no longer a passion for the possible but becomes a passion for the promise”.
No one is hopeless who knows the God of hope. In Christian hope we are waiting and looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). That hope sustains us in a hope that beyond this world lies a life of indestructible blessing.
We may experience pain that feels endless, situation that appears hopeless or waiting that seems unbearable. We may endure moments when the odds against us are stacked high and wide. We may not experience the healing we long for as we continue trusting Christ. But even then, Jesus invites us to keep reaching for him, to trust him and never give up hope and to believe he is always able, always and trustworthy.
GOD IS ALWAYS WITHIN REACH TO DO WHAT NO MAN CAN DO.
Father God, you have promised to be an anchor for our hearts when circumstances look dim and discouraging. Help us call out to you in faith and hope, believing that you hear our heart’s cries.BY BISHOP NGOZI DURUEKE (HE REIGNS CHAPEL INTERNATIONAL) To send your testimony, write us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
