CHRIST AS BOND SERVANT
Main text: Ephesians 6:20 –For which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein, I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.
2 Timothy 4:5 – But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
From the main text an ambassador is the senior representative of her own country having all the authority to represent her country. We are gospel preachers who speak with authority boldness and conviction from the Kingdom of God. The term bond means strong connections between two people or groups that will be difficult to destroy. This means that we are strongly connected to our Lord Jesus Christ as his servants to preach the good news about him and witness him to the whole world. We are Christ’s bondservant as Apostle Paul in the above text.
As true disciples or servants of God on the bond, we are expected to be filled with unrestricted and single minded zeal for God and leave our lives completely sold out to him that is, we are Ambassador in bonds. He told us in the book of Mark 8:34b -35; ‘Whosoever will come after me, let him deny self by refusing to satisfy personal interest or desire’. The business of God requires urgency. John 9:4 says, ‘I must work the work of him that sent me while it is day: the night comes when no man can work’.
Child of God, you are on the bond Christ to preach the gospel everywhere. Sent by God to preach the undiluted gospel, declaring the gospel of Jesus saves. You are under bond as Apostle Paul to preach to lost souls. Your goal in life should be to serve and please God with no ulterior motive at all.
THE GREATEST WORK ON EARTH IS TO PREACH THE GOOD NEWS AND THE GREATEST NEED IN THE WORLD IS THEY NEED FOR THE GOSPEL
