THE LOVE THAT PROFITS

Main Text: 1 Corinthians 13:3 “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing”

1 John 4:7 – “Beloved, let us love one another; for love is God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God”

Unless you have this divine love that God gives. You could give everything you have to charity, but if the motive was not divine love, it means nothing in the sight of Almighty God. Beloved, the love that profits does not envy, boast and it’s not proud but patient and kind.

There is something Jesus said to those who followed him: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35
The love that profits demands humility. It never tries to promote itself, never tries to advertise itself. It is always in the background, truly humble.

The thing that we need in the church today is genuine, old fashioned humility that does not behave rudely. But it’s always courteous and gracious at every turn. It seeks not its own. The love that profits bears all things, endures all things, and hopes for all things.

IF YOU HAVE FAITH THAT CAN MOVE MOUNTAIN WITHOUT LOVE IT NO PROFIT

Prayer: Oh Lord! Fill me with your love that will profit me, Amen.
