ALL POWERS BELONG TO GOD
Main text: Psalm 62:11 – “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God”
1 Chronicles 29:12 – “Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give unto all” KJV
All power was given to Christ that is in heaven and in earth. Let us not be like the Sadducees who knew neither the scriptures nor the power of God. Let us be careful that our faith does not stand in the wisdom of men, “but in the power of God.” All power belongs to God and He gives it out to believers according to their works. What work? – The work of prayer by God’s Spirit. Child of God, effective prayer will always produce power.
If you’re not experiencing the power of God in your life and that limitation that is facing you now, it’s time to consider the effectiveness of your prayer, because it’s only God that can do what no man can do. God works mightily in us when we are “quickened” and raised up together with Christ.
The spiritual power to change our lives is channeled by means of the gospel. Paul referred to the gospel as “the power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16).
When trials and temptation comes our way as believers we behave like David in the Bible, we contact God first. God is the only sure place of protection because all powers belong to Him.
