GOD EXAMINES OUR MOTIVES

Main text – Luke 12:15 – And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth

James 4:3 – Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.

Our hearts are on a weighing balance in the hands of God. It is more about our motives than our works. Some people murmur against God while they work for the same God. Only if we can understand that God is about our hearts. When we lift up our hands and voice in worship to God, it is the state of our hearts that make the expressions to God and not necessarily the countenance of our faces. Beloved, how is the state of your heart?

Watch out! Be on guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. There are some prayers that should change and God is not happy because the driving force towards the prayers is greed – never satisfied and wanting more. Check the motives behind your prayers and the works that you do.
There are earthly applause and praise that disqualify us before God. Seek those things that glorify your God. Keep doing those acts that God approves even if they are not receiving earthly recognitions.

NEVER PLEASE MEN TO DISPLEASE GOD NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE

Prayer – O God, put my motives right so that I can receive when I pray and receive rewards of my labor.
