A CALL TO PRAY

Main Text- Matthew 26:41- watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Ephesians 6:18- And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

The call to pray is the urgency required to pray without ceasing. There is every day need to keep praying because the devil like a roaring hungry lion goes about seeking whom to devour. Jesus Christ opened unto us another aspect of prayer. He said, “Watch and pray”. Can someone pray and not watch? Is praying not part of watching too? These and many more are the questions about the above stated scripture.

The truth remains that one can pray blindly. Let’s consider prayer to be like seeking for a pass code and then we refuse to use the pass code to access the door that we wish to open. As we pray, there is the side of God which comes with instructions. When we close the communication link of God in prayers and only open our side, then we are praying blindly and there is no profit in this kind of prayer.

To pray means to keep communicating God nonstop, ceaselessly. There is no point in life that we should stop communicating with God. Prayers should be done in the spirit and never carnally because to pray is divine and the prayer that is effective is led by the spirit of God through us.

WHEN THERE IS A MAN TO PRAY, THERE IS A GOD TO ANSWER

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit please baptize me afresh to engage continuously in prayer.
