IT IS MORE PROFITABLE TO BE A GIVER

MAIN TEXT: ACTS 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

EPHESIANS 4:28 – He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.

We should trust God enough to give. Sowing will not always feel comfortable, but the Scriptures promise we will reap joy if we give regardless of the way we may feel at the moment (Psalm 126:5). If we focus too much on things going on in the world, we will not sow (Ecclesiastes 11:4).There will always be something competing with our intent to sow and give. To trust is to lean or rely on. When we trust God enough to give the way the Scriptures say, He will cause an increase in our financial storehouses.

Sometimes we do everything spiritually we can and still our lives are filled with struggles. Perhaps we need to examine and revive our giving so we can become rich the way God wants us to be rich. The problem is we always want to be rich the way we want to be rich and he wants us to be rich in the way he wants us to be rich and there’s a difference. Many times we want to be rich so we can have and use stuff. He wants us to be rich so we can give stuff and know him more perfectly.

Second, when we give freely, God freely supplies even more to us. Consider Proverbs 19, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed” (verse 17). You can’t out-give God. The more we give away, the more he supplies to us. He loves to bless givers

GIVERS LIVE ON GOD’S PAYROLL AND GOD IS COMMITTED TO THEIR NEEDS

PRAYER: let my gifts speak good for me and bring abundant blessings to my generation in Jesus name. Amen.
