GOD IS MY STRENGTH
MAIN TEXT: 1 Peter 4:11 “if anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides”
Psalm 18:1
“I love you, O LORD, my strength”
Strength is the energy that God gives us to complete a task. It is what helps us endure to the end. Strength is also what helps us resist negative forces. We cannot be strong by merely willing to be so. The body must gain strength through nourishing diet, bracing air, exercise etc. So, spiritual strength arises from feeding upon Christ in faith, the word of God and prayer.
Is fear crippling you, and depression almost taking your life? Ask Him for strength. Paul said, “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” We can experience the same reality that Paul did. And when we do, we will be able to say with David, “I love you, O Lord, my strength!”
This strength is ours by our union in Christ. “Be strong in the Lord” We must therefore, be in Christ in order that we may have this strength and the closer our union with Christ becomes the more vigorously shall we be supplied with His strength. Isaiah 40:29 says “ He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength”. God is interested in those who still believe that He can strengthen them, He does not abandon the weak but His interest is your faith in Him to empower you again and again for the work. You must draw more strength everyday from God to be able to do your works.
THE THINGS YOU CANNOT DO, GOD CAN DO THEM GREATLY THROUGH YOU.
Prayer – Oh lord, anoint me and release your supernatural power upon me now
