DON’T COMPETE WITH THE WORLD

MAIN TEXT – 2 CORINTHIANS 10:12
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they, measuring themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him – John 3:26

The scripture teaches us that we are living in a failing world which lies in the power of the evil one. Also that the same world is passing away, the earth and its work will be burned up, that we should therefore concentrate on God’s kingdom. Competition can be good in many areas of life where it encourages excellence and efficiency rather than mediocrity and sloppiness. The challenge for Christians is to check our motives as we enter competitive area of sorts.

We should always be determined to keep off from the worldly thinking pattern and living according to the evil ways of sinful world that is at war with God and His truth.

In the book of John 3:22-30; we observe that the disciples of John came to Him with complaint of resentment and competition, to remind John that he is losing his dominion and popularity to Jesus Christ, but John wisely responded and said “A man can receive nothing unless God has given it to him from heaven”.
Let us do everything possible to be contented with whatever we receive from God because God blesses a grateful soul.

THE RACE IS NOT TO THE SWIFT BUT IT IS THE GRACE OF GOD THAT PROMOTES

PRAYER: OH LORD, KEEP MY HEART SAFE AND PURE FROM WORLDLY COMPETITIONS IN JESUS’ NAME
