USE YOUR EYES WELL

Main Text: Genesis 13:10 – And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the Plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.

Proverbs 14:13 – There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him but at the end of it is the way of death.

So many people have lost their path because of what they saw with their eyes – even the scripture tells us that with the eyes, sin can be committed. In 2 Samuel 11:2-3, David saw and desired to have Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah. Therefore, what you see or perceive is of great deal.

From our text, Lot saw with the eyes of greed and selfishness because he was still operating in the natural even though he moved with a man of the supernatural – Abraham. At the latter of that chapter, his greed and selfishness brought destruction to him and his household and his wife became a pillar of salt in the process. In our world today, there are many things that appear pleasing and appealing to the eyes of men but God frowns at such.

Many have derailed from the righteous path because of earthly pleasures. Beloved, our second text reminds us that there is a way that seems right and beautiful but brings sorrow at the end – Abraham chose the area that seemed rough but at the end, it yielded increase for him.

When you desire to see and look eventually, ask God for the grace to see beyond your human comprehension, approval and understanding but according to His will and purpose for your life.

NOT ALL ROADS LEAD TO DIVINE DESTINATION

Prayer: From now, May I only see what God wants me to see in Jesus name. May the power to see only the right things come upon you now in Jesus name. Amen
