TURN AWAY FROM IT
MAIN TEXT: Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
Psalm 34:14 – Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
There is a costless, changeless form of Christianity that not only says “come as you are” but also says “stay as you are”. The result is that churches are filled with churchgoers who have little more intention of obeying God than non-churchgoers. At every point that they see sin, they refuse to repent.
We know that pride is something in the heart and it can lead to evil ways. So the Lord says we must hate evil, including what was just listed. As what we said before, pride leads to evil ways. We find that if pride in a person’s heart isn’t curbed or removed, it is very likely he will do a lot of wicked things against God.
As a Christian, what have you done to those weaknesses of your life? How long can you cover them or you want it to humiliate you? Complete submission to the Holy Spirit is the solution. A sinner who is destroyed or dies in his sin is the foolish sinner – Turn to Jesus Christ now.
TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND TURN TO CHRIST
PRAYER: O God, deal with the issues of my heart. Let evil and sin no more have dominion over me. I rise in righteousness in Jesus’ name Amen
