FRUIT OR JUST LEAVES
MAIN TEXT: MATTHEW 21:19
“And when He saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing there on, but leaves only, and he said unto it, let no fruit grow on thee hence forward for ever. And presently, the fig tree withered away”.
MATTHEW 7:18- A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
Jesus demands that we bear fruits that befit repentance. God is hungry for souls. We are expected to be fruitful in soul winning. We should be careful not to display an impressive array of leaves without actually bearing fruit. The bible says when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self control.
May we bear fruits and not just leaves that we may not be cursed as Jesus cursed the fig tree. Galatians 5:22 that is the kind of fruit people can see, touch, taste, and enjoy. And it is the kind that God wants to see manifest in our lives, today.
There are responsibilities that God has given to us to do that even the angels cannot do so it is disappointing to God when He comes down and discovers that we are not fulfilling the desires of the Lord. We cannot keep failing God and keep expecting that God will supply all our needs.
What nature of fruits are you producing to the glory of God? God is watching you in that assignment he gave you. You will give account of it to God.
LET THE FRUITS WE BEAR, LEAD MEN TO CHRIST.
Prayer point- oh God remove all the unwanted lifestyle in me that does not give glory to God.
