CRUCIFY THE FLESH
Main Text: Galatians 6:17
From henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
1 Corinthians 6:19 – What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Apostle Paul said that he would not want to be trouble anymore because he bore the marks of the Lord Jesus in his body. Marks are symbols of ownership and here, Paul declared himself; spirit and body owned by Jesus Christ.
Beloved, who owns you? Whose mark do you bear? To whom do you pledge allegiance or declare unto?
In Luke 9:23, Jesus said, if any man would follow him, they should deny self, take up his cross and follow Him on daily bases. To carry your cross is to crucify your flesh so that you walk in the spirit and not against the spirit.
I once read a text book captioned “Dead men wanted”, in Christendom. That book revealed what Jesus meant in John 12:24 saying, “verily, verily I say unto you except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Beloved, let your regenerated nature now bear more fruits of the Holy Spirit. An occult leader warned a pastor preacher, not to preach in the neighborhood or he would die. The preacher replied that he was a dead man already to the kind of death he meant. Jesus said in John 12:25 that whoever loved his life would lose it but he that hated his life because of the world would keep it unto life eternal. Beloved, remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and should be preserved for God
THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST DESTROYED THE POWERS OF THE FLESH
Prayer Point- I depend on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Deliver me from the destruction of my flesh
