KEEP THE RIGHT TRACK
MAIN TEXT: 1 Corinthians 9:24—Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
1 Corinthians 9:26 -27 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I should be disqualified.
If we don’t do what we teach while on the race, how can they believe that we are sincere and the life’s principles we teach are necessary for good existence on earth and blissful eternity after death?
Let’s be a little practical, for example, ‘Read your Bible and pray every day if you want to grow’. This is a popular Christian poem we learned to sing from childhood stage.
We learned it either from our Sunday school teachers, our parents, or even elderly ones at home. For instance, if a kid discovers that neither mummy nor daddy reads the Bible before breakfast or prays before going to bed. Then the child wonders, why? They will quickly conclude that their parents do not really mean what they say to them.
Your life stands as an epistle to your generation and the generation after you. With your track record, you will be remembered. The impact you make while you still live may encourage or discourage men to follow Christ. Our fathers of old ran and kept tracks that still speak positively to our lives today. Are you really in the race? Make sure you keep a track of faithfulness to God. Remember, some people are following your steps. Peace
LIVE BY THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST
PRAYER: In Jesus name, I pray to remain focused and dedicated to the divine assignment and purpose of my life. Lord, help me to be the good example to people. Amen
