BE THE GOOD SAMARITAN

BE THE GOOD SAMARITAN

Main Text: Luke 10:33 – ‘But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion’

Luke 10:27 ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind and your neighbours as yourself

When the love of Christ and godly seed is within your heart then, showing compassion become inevitable. From the main text, we understand from the previous verses that a priest and a Levite saw the man who was attacked and beaten by robbers on the highway showed no compassion on him.

Many times we become too busy even when fulfilling the assignment God gave to us and forget to do the bidding of Christ as He instructs us to be our brother’s keeper. All the characters in that parable were on their schedule to meet up but it was only the Samaritan man that stopped and showed care to the wounded man.

Remember that God instructs us to be our brother’s keeper. There is a blessing in helping our brethren who are down to stand. In the environment you find yourself, what help are you rendering to alleviate the suffering of the people around you. Today, God is reminding us to show love, care and attend to the needs of our neighbours irrespective of our busy schedules. God knows our daily and busy schedule but it is a test to know whether we prioritize our needs over His will.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF
