The Winner’s Mindset
Main Text: 1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has know the mind of the Lord so as to guide and instruct him and give him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ”.
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.
The scripture tells us that because the Holy Spirit lives in us, you and I have the mind of Christ. The unbelieving Israel murmured and died in the wilderness, The believers like Joshua, wined and dined in rich Canaan, the Promised Land. The problem is that although we have the mind of Christ, and know the word of God, we don’t listen to our Spirit which is being enlightened by Holy Spirit.
Instead, we listen to our natural senses. Most people give up when they are just about to achieve success. They will get to the one- yard line and then walk away, just when they are about to score the winning goal.
Persistence is one of the most common qualities of great achievers, because they refuse to give up. No matter how strong your vision may be, distractions will raise their ugly heads, you just need to stick around. The winner’s mindset should be with endurance. Paul went through beatings, imprisonments, false accusations, loneliness, sickness, persecutions etc. that would have caused the most committed to give up, but he refused to give up, and became one of the greatest leaders in the early Church. So whatever you choose to do with your life, don’t give up .No matter how severe it might be, your storm cannot last forever. With persistency and patience, you can win all. Those who are “great” are those who stick around longer than anybody else. They don’t quit the face of disappointment. They don’t quiver in the face of delays. They choose to run with endurance. The bible declares “For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again (Proverbs 24:16)
TO STAND IN THE WINNER’S CIRCLE YOU MUST FACE THE FACT THAT YOUR JOURNEY WILL HAVE CHALLENGES.
Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, please help me to overcome the natural tendency to retreat when I face difficulties in Jesus name Amen.
