BE GOOD TO PEOPLE
MAIN TEXT: I THESSALONIANS 4:1 – “Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instructions as to how you ought to walk and please God (Just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more”.
MATTHEW 7:8 – “a good tree cannot produce bad fruit and a bad tree produce good fruit”.
Being good means an expression of the life of Christ. Goodness is a unique fruit of the Holy Spirit. The expression of goodness is a form of Christ-likeness lived out to make others better. God wants you to increase in your acts of love and kindness beyond your immediate family. If God has blessed you, bless others. If God has favoured you, favour others.
THE EXPRESSIONS OF THE FRUIT OF GOODNESS IN PEOPLE 1) DELIGHTS IN GODLY WAYS. Turn to Proverbs 14:13, Gal. 5:16, 22-23 2) THE DESIRE TO HELP THE POOR-They are always filled with the necessary perspective and attitude to help the poor. 1 CORIN. 13:3. 3) A GOOD PERSON EXHIBITS GODLY INFLUENCE ON OTHERS. A good man leaves a good mark and other benefits from his life spiritually, intellectually, and socially. A sum total a good person ends up contributing to the needs of others 4) HE CHOOSES GODLY FRIENDS. Prov. 2:20, A good person will always have the propensity to gravitate towards the paths of other good persons. 5) A GOOD PERSON IS A RECIPIENT OF GODLY FAVOUR. Prov. 12:12, Prov. 31:12, Prov. 15:3
Goodness is a virtue and holiness in action. The greek word translated “goodness”, agathosune, is defined as ‘uprightness of heart and life’. Agathosune is goodness for the benefit of others, not goodness simply for the sake of being virtuous. It is not a quality we can manufacture on our own.

PRAYER – I need the Spirit of goodness in me and let my manifestation be full of goodness in Jesus name. Amen.
