MONDAY, DECEMBER 17
Letting Out Too Much Information.
Main Text: Genesis 3: 1 – 3: Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
Proverbs 29:20: Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
There are some information that are vital to our success in life and they are not meant to be let out just anyhow. Information given to us for our lives and ministries are meant to be kept secret and safe from those that are not of like minds with us.
Eve was asked a tricky question by the serpent, “Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden”? That was not God’s instruction; it was a tricky question to involve Eve in a conversation. Eve should have simply said “NO” then walk away but she chose to give the serpent detailed answer of not eating the fruit of the tree at the middle. This led to their fall.
Be careful in answering questions, especially the ones that has to do with instructions concerning your life. You must walk closely with the Holy Spirit so as to discern which question to answer and not to answer. You must be quick to listen, slow to give answer.
Watch your mouth, giving out too much information and talking unnecessary can implicate you. Be wise.
MUCH TALKING IS THE CAUSE OF DANGER. SILENCE IS THE MEANS OF AVOIDING MISFORTUNE. THE TALKATIVE PARROT IS SHUT UP IN A CAGE. OTHER BIRDS, WITHOUT SPEECH, FLY FREELY ABOUT.
Prayer point: Lord help me to control my tongue, lest I help my enemy to destroy me in Jesus.
