SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23
AVENGE ME, OH! GOD
Main text: Romans 12:19 – Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. (kjv)
Psalm 105:15 – Saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophet no harm.
Beloved, be obedient and put your trust in the Lord, He will fight for you and you will hold your peace. Every sincere believer is the apple of God’s eye. God is mindful of him or her and will not hesitate to avenge whoever afflicts him or her.
The Israelites were enslaved and treated cruelly by the Egyptians but as they were regarded as the people of God, they were rescued from the hands of their oppressors. Pharaoh and his chariots were destroyed at the sea. This is the promise of God for those who are his. The Bible says that “for He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep thee in all thy ways” – Psalm 91:11.
The Lord is committed to protecting those who He loves. David was mindful not to kill Saul whom God has anointed because he understood that the hand of the Lord was still upon. On the day of vengeance, Saul and his three sons died the same day in a battle against the philistines. Thereafter, David became King in Israel.
Brethren, whatever God says you will be, no one can stop it. Therefore, learn to pay good for evil, pray for your enemies, learn to forgive, maintain a loving heart and above all be prayerful.
Commit every act to the Lord and wait for Him to act. This is what God expects from every believer and He will never allow the righteousness to be moved.
COMMIT EVERY ACT TO THE LORD FOR VENGEANCE IS HIS.
