DESIRE THE SINCERE MILK
Main Text: 1Peter 2:2, “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby. (AKJV)
Matthew 5:6, ‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness sake for they shall be filled (AKJV)
Many Christians of this present age are deceived by wrong teachings and false doctrines from thousands of false prophets who have decided to use evangelism and soul winning as a career not a calling. Some are even drawn into wrong beliefs by these false prophets who have also succeeded in turning our mind to the kingdom of darkness.
However we are being told by Apostle Peter, from the main text, to desire and yearn towards receiving sincere milk of the word straight from the throne of Grace as it is only true and undiluted spiritual food that guarantees our growth in the faith and in grace as well as our development into productive and faithful Christians.
Our second text also records that Jesus already had guaranteed the infilling of the Holy Spirit to those who would sincerely hunger and thirst for it.
Today’s devotion is a clarion call to all Christians who are truly believers, as well as new converts and those who have been mislead by false teachings to seek the face of God, to return to the Holy of Holies where God truly is, to come back to the throne of Grace to obtain mercy and grace to help in times of need. (Heb 4:16) There is no reason for self-doubt because there is joy in Heaven over a soul that repents.
We can only show true desire for that sincere milk by worshipping God from the depths of our hearts, worshipping Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and we can truly worship, God that way by emptying ourselves before God, humbling ourselves and seeking, divinity with our spirit, Soul and body.
