The Rope of Faith 1
Main text: Hebrews 11:1- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Romans 4:20 -Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.
In a certain small community of farmers, there came a season of drought that seemed to last for eternity. The community became troubled on what to do. Plants and animals were dying. As the problem continued, a local Pastor called for prayer meeting to ask God for rain.
On the day of the prayers, while they were already in the Church and ready to pray, the Pastor noticed a little girl sitting quietly in the front row. Her face was beaming with smile and great expectations. Next to her, opened and ready for use was a very colourful and extremely large umbrella, bigger than her.
Her tenderness and innocence made the Pastor Smile as he realized how much faith she possessed. All other people came to pray for rain but this little girl had come with great expectations.
Our Main text says, “faith is the substance of things hope for…”, in other words, with faith we have the testimony even before the miracle is tangible. As the year progresses, ask yourself whether you have faith in “A Great God” concerning your expectations. Have the attitude of the little girl in the story today.
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DO NOT SEE, BUT BELIEVE.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, strengthen and establish my faith in Jesus name. Amen.
