BY THE SPIRIT
Main text: Romans 8:9 – But you are not in the flesh but in the spirit, if indeed the spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Psalm 104:30 – You send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.
Interestingly, God contracts being filled by the spirit with being drunk. Somebody who is drunk in wine is controlled and consumed by wine. But someone who is drunk in the Holy Spirit is controlled and consumed by the Holy Spirit who helps us to live holy lives.
It is impossible to follow God except we are led by the spirit. The only way to be led by the spirit is to follow God’s command to be filled by the Holy Spirit. A Christian who is not led by the spirit cannot please God because the spirit works through our conscience to make us aware of sin in our lives. Holy Spirit has a vital role in the life of the believer.
He helps us to pray even when we don’t know what to pray. He guides us to know about the scripture and life in general. He teaches us, speaks to us, and reveals mysteries to us. He gives us personal instructions. He testifies about Jesus and convicts us of sins etc. in fact, He is the believer’s livewire. Are you controlled by the spirit of God?
Remember, your intimacy with God is determined by your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Your prayer life and study of God’s word will become more meaningful by His spirit. You will experience his power in witnessing by the Spirit (Acts 1:8).
You will be prepared for spiritual conflict against the world, against flesh and against Satan. By His spirit, you will experience the power to resist temptation and sin. As you celebrate the last quarter of this year, ensure that you are listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and not the voice of your own desire.
HOLY SPIRIT IS THE BELIEVERS LIFE-WIRE.
