DO NOT STUMBLE
Main Text: John 12: 46 – “I am come a light into the world that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness”
Psalm 119:130 – The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Jesus is our Lord, and Saviour, and when we abide in Him, we can never stumble. John 15: 4 says “Abide in me, and I in you as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me”. From our main text, we can see that when we abide in God, He sends His light to illuminate darkness in our lives.
This goes to show that without Jesus in our lives, we cannot stand on our own. The entrance of this light in us helps us to stand when trials come.
We cannot go astray, or stumble when we abide in Jesus. When we obey the word of the Lord and do it, the Holy Spirit will guide, teach, and lead us into all truth, and by so doing, we cannot stumble.
We can only stumble when we disobey the word of the Lord and disconnect from the true vine Jesus (John 15: 1). God expect that we remain consistent in our walk and fellowship with Him. No one can stumble when the light of the word of God, guides us. Psalm 119:105.
When the word of God is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path, we can never stumble. It is that word in you that will aid you in confronting the enemy when he rears up his head in your life and family. The bible tells us that it is through the entrance of God’s word that light enters us.
Therefore, as children of God, we ought to consistently feed your spirit with the word of God so that you can be able to stand and not stumble.
