DON’T CONSULT MEDIUMS
Main Text: Leviticus 19:31 ‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spirits; for your ill be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God
Deuteronomy 5:7 – “You shall have no other gods before me”
Consulting mediums means seeking information/knowledge about issues of our lives through other means or avenues apart from the Almighty God. Sometimes we hear people say something like ‘my son/daughter is sick, let me go and find out what is wrong” etc.
This is idolatry. Note that consulting mediums is not a sure way of obtaining reliable information or solution. It can easily cause irreparable damage to people.
God warns his children expressly not to engage in this. God is the Holder/ revealer of secrets. Any matter he wants to make known, he reveals but, we should learn to trust and let matters rest. When you run ahead of yourself and God, you run into bigger trouble.
There is no benefit there. Mediums do not really deal with real dead people, after all, the bible says ‘once after death, judgment follows.
They deal with what is called ‘familiar spirits. These are evil spirits that are employed to torment people and cause them to turn away from God. God is enough for us. He loves and cares for us a lot. He has all the answers and holds all the solutions to our problems.
All we need to do is to fervently seek, search and obtain answers through prayers to God and he will guide us as much as we can handle. We must learn to trust and depend on God to handle our matters his own way.
CONSULTING MEDIUMS IS IDOLATRY, GOD ABHORS IT.
